I don't know why I have never thought of this before, and thought I would share my thinking. I juice carrots, apples and so on and I have always wondered what to do with the pulp from the juicing besides making compost or soup or breads out of it. During our challenge, I have been using the pulp from these in my smoothies. In addition to the lettuce or spinach in my fruit smoothies, I have been adding some of the pulp to them as well. I was afraid that with the lettuce and the carrot (pulp) I would have a fruit smoothie that tasted like a vegetable salad...but to my surprise, I cannot taste it at all, especially with the sweet fruits in there. It also gives me the benefit of the fiber and makes for a more filling smoothie. Bon Appetit! Timothy McKenna

Interesting idea. Actually it makes perfect sense doesn't it! My chooks had been getting the benefit of my pulps...they may not be so lucky now!

For the cleansing challenge, do you think it's better adding the pulps of the vegetables and fruits if you're using a kind of Omega Juicer or without the pulps the detox will be better with less fibers ?

Certainly having the fiber will help get you "moving," if you get my drift. So, for me, and the cleasing of the colon and GI tract, having a good cleanse that way is important. On the other hand there is something to said for getting a blast of nutrients that "pure" juice can give. TGAPO aka Mathman
