Another thank you today to Fred for his inspiring presence in the raw food/health world. I am 53 years old and am pretty healthy. I encountered the raw food path a couple of years ago and went for the "gourmet" raw food books because, even though I've led a health-oriented life for a most of my life, I'm also a gourmet/gourmand when it comes to food! Maybe some folks, younger folks, people with very strong digestive systems can handle that rich plan, with lots of oils, nuts and avocados--but when I try a fairly "moderate" amount of higher fat raw food combinations, I have problems like bloating, acid indigestion, feeling lethargic. I can't believe so many "health gurus" promote "eating anything as long as it's raw". I'm glad I discovered Fred's website to guide me along a logical, reasonable, human plan for living and eating. I am continuing to aspire to his ideals and feel that this will bring me to optimum health! Thanks again, Fred.

I agree with you. When I first learned about raw foods I decided to jump in and bought a food dehydrator and juicer. I can't eat dehydrated foods. I always end up with stomach pains and I've never had problems with my stomach. I do use my juicer with the blank plate to make fruit icecreams. I know Fred doesn't recommend frozen foods but I live in florida and every now and then it is nice to have something cold. I also can't eat concentrated foods with nuts. They also upset my stomach.
I'm still in the process of removing other "bad" things from my diet, but I am on my way to better health.

echiofalo, I agree with you about the cold/frozen foods. They are a nice thing on a hot day, and they often "hit the spot" when it comes to having something sweet. See my recipe for "banana raisin sweet dream" on my newsletter at gardenariantimes.googlepages.com/dessertsmoothiesYou may like that. Tim aka mathman aka tgapo
