I am starting on my first day - I have studied raw foods for 15 years and have many books on the subject but - gasp - have only ever been raw for 2 weeks when I was 24 years old! I am now 46 and I have tried a few times but always gave up by the end of the day and went back to my chocolate raisin cravings. So this is my fresh start and great to have a team to be doing it with - I am wheat intolerant and I feel that this kicks off an addiction ( as I was still eating it) to cooked foods making it very hard to go raw. I also find that when I eat wheat I also have huge sugar cravings - wondering if anyone ekse has had the same experiance. My diet has been bad over the last few years and in fact I was doing jenny craig for 3 weeks until last week - I do know better but cooked food is like an addiction!! Hopefully I will do better this time around

Your history is about ditto for me exactly!! I thought I was the only one who knew and studied so much for so many years (decades!), yet can hardly get through even half a day without overeating good, but mostly bad foods. I often think,"If only I didn't have others to cook for others, then I could have a pure house and then I could do it."(My spouse and children, extended family think raw is wacko) But it's really not their fault. I'm the one with a problem and over the last couple of years, my eating habits have been atrocious and I have gained a lot of weight and feeling worse and worse. Yet, YET I keep coming back to the ideas of healthful living and truly think, "Someday!" Someday I'm going to figure this our. I have also wished I could help others, but my credibility is about zilch, when my own health is going downhill and I look so lousy.
How about you? You can do it you know. You really can!!
Maybe we could spur each other on?

I think we all go through cravings and withdrawls from cooked food. I was raw for over a year and still had the occational craving for junk foods. I was fine if I went for a walk or got busy cleaning house.... anything to keep my mind and hands busy. Now, I'm starting over again and it's not much easier, but I'm more determined.... lol
