At the beginning of our challenge, and in addition to the workbook to track my progress, I began using a free Nutritional Analysis and Tracking System (NATS) to see the nutrient content of the foods I have been eating. It is easy to use, you can easily set up a "common foods" list to keep your most frequently used food stuffs for later tracking without typing them in everytime. You can change the amounts and such easily enough and you can get both the individual food analysis as well as a total for the day. Being a mathematician, I find playing with the numbers interesting. But, you don't have to be a mathematician to see and appreciate what it is you are eating in terms of nutrients. The different nutrients (protein, carbs, fat, vitamins and minerals) can be looked at separately as well as in a total for a meal or day. I have found this motivating and informative every day. Here is the URL if you are interested. nat.crgq.com/mainnat.htmlTim

Hi mathman . I'm foxed as to how one works out the percentage of protein fats & carbs one eats in a day . Eg , 80% carbs ; 10%fat & 10% protein ....& calorie counting - what a drag !!! I'll have to look into that URL maybe it will be the answer to my question .

WOW, HOW COOL!! I even entered info on my child to be sure he was getting enough calories because he is a big time fruit eater. It is a very informative tool!! He is, by the way!

I couldn't get to the site, it gives me an error. I tried going to the home page of it too (taking off after the / ), but it still didn't work. Is this the right URL? Plz advise! Here is another one: www.nutritiondata.com/It would seem that NATS is no longer available on the original site. Tim (tgapo aka mathman)
